Summer at Camp Stanhope continues

Noel  trying to fit into a box... even though I retrieved a larger one for her.
Since the natural 'prairie' grasses are a little farther away from the house than they used to be (this year we're surrounded by corn) we haven't seen as many birds of any kind.
We used to have two sets of cardinals and more brown threshers (one or two have made a comeback this spring also) and kildeer around.
I've seen this goldfinch at the feeder a couple of times this week and had the camera close enough to get a picture yesterday.  I slid the patio door open and he really did look right at me!

Our 15th year anniversary living in the country!!

The rain finally came last Wednesday (1 1/2"), and we could still use more!
John found the first tomato sprouting in his garden.
Grace wandering after she helped John water the tomatoes.
We drove over to Little Wall Lake last night just for fun.

We saw several old cars on our little adventure last night, but I liked this one.

We're 'babysitting' the grand-dog, Stig!

Stig is just a puppy, and we didn't let him chase the cats (he did chase Grace and George when they got brave one day and came down into 'his' domain)!  Stig and John watching a baseball game.
Stig LOVES John, and is VERY playful!
One of Stig's rare moments of relaxation (they don't last long!).

We visited little Reed (and his mom!)...

Great-Grandma (Mema) and I went to see (squeeze) Reed last Monday.  We let him sleep for a little while after we got there...
Reed trying to 'talk' to mama Michelle (our niece).  It was so cute!
Yes, I'm biased.  But they were BOTH cute!

Relaxing with the cats...

So the train toy needed a little more softness apparently (I didn't realize this before now).  They haven't slept anywhere else since I picked up the rug to vacuum and put it there.
I've been busy being the "IT" person for several households with
dial-up connection to their computers (and they won't download
fast enough to update, etc.!).   So I brought the computer boxes
home and connected to our fiber-optic (great!) internet and have been
 updating them.  Hope it's successful.

The cutest baseball player yet!

This is a picture of our great-nephew, Reed, who is now 3 weeks old.
Is that the cutest thing you've seen?  Well, I know I could be
a little partial to him.  What great dimples and that smile!!!
