Fresh snow on a Monday!

This is what Bogie thought of the blizzard warnings coming to our neighborhood!

This is what Queen thought of going outside (which they all do after dark, usually for a few minutes at least).

A 23 second video of Gracie scattering snow for fun and then pouncing into the bush to see if there are any birds or bunnies hiding thee.

Noel's "anticipation"....

Noel likes to come out of her 'penthouse' (bedroom upstairs where she can live without the 'extra' other cats to interrupt her solace) when it's nice out, and this day she decided to sit and wait for the birds to come to her!

Noel's injured eye (7/17/07) is looking bad lately, and I think it may have to be removed.... ick. It doesn't seem to hurt her, but she does have a little problem closing her eye entirely lately.

Alex's 25th b.d. party in Des Moines

Joe (my 21-year old nephew) playing 'leg-guitar' with Izaac's leg. 11-second video hopefully to load later.

Izaac's self-portrait with my camera.

The wooden chicken from MY childhood (so it MUST be REALLY old!), and Izaac still likes to drag it around sometimes.

Some of the attendees on Sunday (Alex in chair on left, with wife Allison in a blue jacket sitting on the floor).

Izaac at a better angle on Sunday.

Tuesday & Wednesday pictures from my window

It's about 6 degrees F. so I don't go outside much! (Bogart and Queen head for the patio door.)

Bogart, Queen and Gracie brave the cold to try and catch a bird at the feeder (and between George & Gracie they did catch a small one this morning--ick).

Yesterday's view from the window--dreary and still snowing.

The view from the west window.

A typical Sunday in Des Moines!

Izaac is the unofficial greeter! (Samantha--mema in the background finishing making the gravy for turkey and all the fixin's!)

Shirl set up the racetrack (Uncle Charlie and Bella the cat observing) for Izaac.

Bella taking advantage of a quiet moment on the racetrack.

Izaac's 'tough look'...

Izaac in a quiet moment kissing Bella.

A picture of Bella with her 'hitler' moustache...

It's Friday with snow flurries...

We usually have a red-tailed hawk in our neighborhood, but the bird I've been seeing lately is much bigger than the hawk. I can't decide what kind of bird it is, and when I get the camera, it disappears in a hurry (well, it soars off to a tree or the field very gracefully).

Anybody have a theory on what kind of bird is in the picture? My hubby has only seen it in the distance, but found some pictures of baby eagles that look similar (since we have had eagles in the yard and across the road from us in the past).

It's been snowing very slowly and peacefully since yesterday afternoon, and we have a couple of inches so far.

This is Georgy, heading for the bushes so he can hide and try and capture one of the birds that have come to one of the feeders on the fence.

The first Sunday in January, 2011

Suzy (my mom's cat--sister of my cats and Samantha's cats) has the BIGGEST eyes. They make her look a little scary (she's not--she's really pretty sweet!).

These are the great pins I got for Christmas in Sac City. Some of them came directly from John's sister's jewelry box (I think the rest mostly came from her favorite 'recycle' shop, Savers!).

I got more fun Cubs stuff for Christmas (the Cubs socks are from last Christmas, but we have them on the wall all year long!). My niece, Amanda, gave me the lamp post (which does light with solar power, but I like it inside at the moment to enjoy it).

This is the scratching 'post' John made our 'furry' kids. I wanted to show Lucy's new mom, because I forgot to give Margie the new one I bought for Lucy! (Lucy sat on her new mom's lap this morning--so she's getting 'comfy' in her new digs!)

I think Michelle (niece) must have taken this picture of Uncle Charlie. Cute!
