Installing a new window at Grandma Walker's house 06 29 2013

On Thursday afternoon, we ventured to Sac City (IA) to replace the kitchen window in Grandma Walker's house. 

 Oliver got to play with his 'cousin', Stig, who came with his parents, Marty and Samantha (to HELP!!!/actually install the window!!!).

 Marty is the 'real' handyman in our family, and installed the window beautifully!  (After another trip back and forth from Sac City to Ft. Dodge because the window we had purchased and brought over to install was cracked!)

Debating who will do what??? Hurry up, guys.  It's getting dark!!!  

The completed window installed!!!   (We didn't get home very early.... oh well.)

A wild week with Alex and Oliver at Camp Stanhope 06 28 2013

 We talked Alex (our son) into coming to Camp Stanhope to help with yard work and putting a new shower in the downstairs bathroom.

 This is where Bogart decided to spend most of the week, even though it was VERY loud in the bathroom some of the time (it was higher than Oliver could reach!).

 It was fairly hot and muggy early in the week, but Thursday morning was overcast and Alex and I headed outside to trim a tree in the 'north 40'.  Oliver came to 'help'.

Oliver still LOVES to ride in any vehicle, and proved it by riding in several of them this week!

It does seem that MOST of the pictures and short videos I took last Saturday were of the youngest family member--and about the CUTEST!!!  oh well.

The cat bird, and the cat who loves birds... 06 05 2013

 I finally had the camera in a good place and ready to go when this guy finally landed again to eat some grape jelly.

I think it's a cat bird.  We had one several years ago but it never got this close to the house.

This could be one of the reasons some birds don't come close to the house now!

Rain makes for a really green yard! 06/03/2013

 I took this picture last week, but we've had even more rain since then.

 It's nice to see green grass again after last summer's brown patches from the drought, but the ground is bumpy and patchy still.

I need to replace a bunch of plants along the east side of the house.
