Still cold in Iowa, even for February 27, 2014

This was last Thursday afternoon, when we ended up with about 6 inches of very heavy snow.
So this week I busied myself sewing some burp cloths and a couple of blankies for Audrey (my grand-niece).
The cats are tired of this weather, too, and I had a little too much help some of the time!  That's Gracie trying to cozy up to Aunt Mary's old sewing machine. (It's a Nechi--all metal--and really sews nice!!)
There's Ron REALLY relaxing in the sunshine (but COLD-- It's -2 below zero this afternoon!).
The results after last week's storm... and we've had more snow and more COLD since then.
A look from the garage door into the back yard last Friday.

New pictures of our granddaughter!! February 25, 2014

Miss Livvy in her mom's arms looks pretty content!  She now weighs 5 pounds 7 ounces, more than she weighed on her birthday (which is great since she lost some weight the first week).
Okay, I know we're biased to our first grandchild, but this is the most precious picture I've ever seen!  Thanks for smiling Olivia!!!

Izaac has a new sister!! February 24, 2014

Izaac's mom and dad (Amanda--my niece-- and Billy) had a new addition to their family last week.  They arrived home Saturday evening.
Izaac is now 6 1/2 years old and not sure exactly what to think of Audrey Joan.
The rest of us think she's adorable!

More new Granddaughter pictures! February 18, 2014

Grandpa John with her all bundled up (she really likes that).
We made a trip to get her bilirubin checked and to the pediatrician on a really ugly snowy day in Beaver Dam, but things are great!  Her weight is up to 4 pounds, 14 ounces!!!  YEAH!
Mommy Allison trying to get a burp out of little (tiny!!) Miss Olivia!
Just hangin' with Grandpa after a busy day.

Newest picture of our new granddaughter! February 15, 2014

Not sure if somebody was talking to Miss Livvy or not, but she looks like she's trying to talk back to whomever took the picture!  Still in the hospital but making progress to go home and start growing.  Maybe tomorrow.

Well, back to the furry children.... February 13, 2014

Since our new granddaughter, Olivia, has mostly been under the 'tanning' lights for her touch of jaundice, we haven't had a good picture of her without her goggles lately.  (That's Patrick helping me sort fabric.)
It's been VERY cold here lately, and the furry children have been doing bunches of this.... (that's Queen)
It feels like they're trying to hibernate until it's warmer. That's Bogie in the box.
Ron and Pat lazing around on the couch.....
More Ron and Pat lazing on the couch....with Gracie on the back of the couch.
Ron's pretty white tummy is shining in the sun.
Gracie sleeping through the winter....or is that Patrick???

We're officially GRANDPARENTS (6 weeks early)!!!!! February 11, 2014

Olivia Lenore W. made her debut on February 10, 2014 at 9:09 a.m. in Wisconsin.
She's six weeks early, and mom, Allison, wasn't convinced it was 'real' labor on Sunday night but thought it might be a good idea if they checked in with the doctor Monday morning at 7:45!
She's 5 pounds, 4 oz. and 18" long.  In this picture she's about 7 hours old.  LOVE that hat!
I was only going to post the newest picture, which I just got moments ago from Alex (dad, and our son), but couldn't resist showing them all!  Very cute of all 3 of them with Olivia only about 25 hours old!

Uncle Charlie and Harper 02 02 2014

My Uncle Charlie turned 85 yesterday, and this is the cutest picture of him holding his great-great-niece, Harper Lynn Marie (who is 3 months old!).  Couldn't resist sharing it, even though it's just from John's phone camera. That's her mom in the background (my niece, Michelle).
