Soybean Puzzle?
It's September, and the color of the landscape around here changes fast. This is a soybean field near our house (that grove of trees on the right side of the picture is where we live) and the field seems to be striped.
The stripes run in sets of which direction the planter was driving (north or south in this field mostly, north to the right in the picture). One strip is yellow while the beans planted going the other direction haven't started to turn yet. I'm not a farm expert, but I don't remember a soybean field turning in 'stripes' like this before this year. It's been a strange one for wet weather here, so maybe that has something to do with it. Other fields we've driven by are mostly turning yellow in patches, not rows, like this one.
