Planes (in the planes, trains and automobiles vacation)
The SAC Museum near Ashland, NE.
This is a hunk of the "Berlin Wall", and I'm not sure why it's in this airplane/space museum, but I don't remember ever seeing a piece of it before, so it was interesting.

Wildlife, up close and very personal!
Thursday morning we drove through the "Wildlife Safari Park" near Ashland, NE.
Here's only part of what we saw on a cold, but sunny morning.

What we've seen this week!
A "B-52" making practice swings over us.
Bronze sculptor in a botanical garden.
One of the MANY, many trains we have seen--in all different sizes!!
A rendition of Omaha (Nebraska) downtown buildings.
Several museums, a drive-through safari, and a tour through the world's largest train yard...more info and pictures tomorrow!

Blake meets the guys!
Marty and Blake have an eye-to-eye meeting on Sunday.
(Great-great) Uncle Charlie takes a turn at holding Blake on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Des Moines. (That's his Aunt Michelle with her phone...)

Sunsets, today and more than 10 years ago...
In 1997, when we moved here to the country (from the 'big city' of Des Moines), we marveled at the beautiful sunsets because we could see so far and the sun seemed so close. Just about every evening we walked outside to enjoy the view. I took this picture this evening while still appreciating the view.
I'm sure whoever took this picture below thought the sunset this night was beautiful, too.

A pleasant day in Iowa!
It's September, and it's beautiful in Iowa! It's been pretty boring around here the last couple of weeks.
Bogart Wrigley and Georgy keeping warm and close yesterday on their blankies in the sun.
This was taken on 9/3, when we finally got some rain. We haven't actually had to mow since the end of July! (Very unusual for Iowa in July!)
