Busy weekend, and Stig was visiting, too! April 28, 2014

Stig was at Camp Stanhope over the weekend because his 'parents' went to their nephew's birthday party.
I received 2 'chuck-it' toys for Christmas to help entertain the grand-dogs in my life!  It's the first chance we've had to try one.
Stig, patiently waiting for me to 'chuck' the tennis ball out of the new toy.  It wasn't a pleasant weekend for weather, here.  It was COLD, windy, AND RAINY!  The weather never interferes with Stig chasing a tennis ball, though.

Easter, April 20, 2014

Miss Olivia (our granddaughter) in her first Easter dress.  Doesn't she look pretty?  (Of course she does!!!)
This is her more casual look from a couple of days ago that her father sent me.

Markey grandkids and Walker siblings April 16, 2014

Below, front from left:  Michelle, Joe, Ben.  Back row: Alex, Samantha, Amanda and Brian.
This  picture was probably taken between Thanksgiving and Christmas but I don't have the original handy so don't know what year it was taken. Maybe 1993 or 1994.  Can't tell if Ben is 1 or 2 in this picture, and he's the youngest!
These two are my kids through the years.  Alex and Samantha... I think the formal picture was taken at our Des Moines church in 1991, when they would have been 4 and 5 years of age (about).

We're waking up to snow??? It's April 14th, 2014! This is IOWA!!!

On Saturday it was 85 degrees here and WINDY! Yesterday (Sunday) it was COLD, with a wind chill of 32 degrees and a steady rain that lasted ALL DAY.
This morning we woke up to 30 degrees, with wind gusts 30-40 mph, and so the 'feels like' temperature is 16 degrees.
 Unbelievable!
It's not even an April Fool's joke.

Another blast from the past! April 13, 2014

This must be late 1960 or early 1961, since Shirley (in the middle) is 'leaning' instead of sitting up on her own.  She was born September 12.  That makes Bob close to 2 years old and I would be 3 in March.
I think the must be an Easter picture in our finery.  Looks like a gloomy day, either way.  I'm guessing it was 1964.
I think this must be about Easter, 1963.
That's Uncle Charlie behind me, and my grandma behind Shirley.  I think this might have been taken in 1965.  All the outdoor pictures here were taken in my grandma's back yard.

Cats 'help' make the bed?! April 12, 2014

It was time to change sheets on this bed.... but I didn't know I was going to get this much 'help'! Ron and Grace thought the view out this window might be fun.
Bogie decided his place was on the warm (from the dryer) sheet.
Finally I got the fitted sheet on the bed....but they jumped back on as I reached for the top sheet!
This is how far I got.  I put the pillowcases on the pillows and left them to rest on the clean bed.

Interrupted projects April 9, 2014

I was trying to finish up my taxes when Bogie decided he'd help by holding the papers down.  It's windy outside (30-40 mph wind gusts!) but the windows are closed so it's not a problem IN the house!
So I decided to put the batting and backing on a sewing project, but the orphans had other ideas about my tape measure and the quilt.
That's Ron on the quilt, with Patrick and Grace on the floor trying to attack the tape measure.
Ron decided to 'test' it out before I give it away, to make sure it's sleep-worthy!

Last week in review at Camp Stanhope April 7, 2014

The littlest interloper has not given up, partly because I gave in and fed him a few times.... He's very friendly, but still driving some of the inside kitties crazy.  (Ron does NOT like him, but Grace hasn't bothered him too much.  Bogie is still yowling at him but Patrick just avoids him.)
Ron and Patrick cuddling while watching the Cubs game last week (they lost!).
Friday morning we woke up to this!!!  There was a layer of ice under it, too.
Friday mid-day and the snow was melting, slowly.
Patrick, Ron and Bogie on the deck, which hopefully will be replaced/rebuilt this summer!!! We think this deck is close to 40-45 years old (before we lived here!!).
I finished this the week before last, but haven't showed it off here yet.  I received these fabric pieces from my 'heart sister' at church (like a secret Santa, but not at Christmas)
