A different kind of visitor... October 10, 2013

After mowing for more than two hours (and only getting half the yard mowed) I was inside having lunch when this guy came waddling through the front yard and started heading around to the back.

I stuck my head (and camera) out the door and he froze in place.  I then asked where he was headed and it immediately took off back around to the front.  By the time I got back inside to a front window it had disappeared.  I hope it's not digging under our back porch!  

Flashbacks of the past! October 8, 2013

 This is the house in Des Moines where I spent the first 7 years of my life.  I recently found the postcard-sized cards advertising it for sale (back in 1965!).  (That's our old, long-gone bronze-colored Buick in the driveway.)

It was small, but cute.  It had a small kitchen, too.  The three of us (siblings) shared one bedroom!  Then we moved into a bigger house in July, 1965.  (I still had to share a bedroom with my sister, but my brother got his own room at least.)

This house is definitely ready for Halloween!
